1. Understanding the Concept of Discernment

1.1 Discernment as a Spiritual Gift: Discernment is a spiritual gift given by God to help us distinguish between truth and error, right and wrong. 1 Corinthians 12:10

1.2 The Importance of Discernment: Discernment is essential for spiritual growth and maturity. It enables us to make wise decisions and avoid deception. Hebrews 5:14

1.3 The Role of the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in discernment. He guides us into all truth and helps us discern God's will. John 16:13

2. The Biblical Basis for Discernment

2.1 Old Testament Examples: The Old Testament provides several examples of discernment, such as Solomon's wisdom in discerning the true mother of the baby. 1 Kings 3:16-28

4.3 In Our Ministry: Discernment is necessary for effective ministry. It enables us to discern people's needs and respond appropriately with the gospel. 1 Corinthians 2:14
