1.1 Pleasure as a Gift from God: God created us with the ability to experience pleasure. He has given us the senses to enjoy the beauty of creation, the joy of human relationships, and the delight of spiritual fellowship with Him. Pleasure, in itself, is not sinful but a gift from God. Ecclesiastes 3:13
1.2 Pleasure in the Context of God's Will: While God has given us the ability to experience pleasure, He also sets boundaries for our good. Pleasure should not lead us into sin or away from God's will. Instead, it should draw us closer to Him and align our desires with His. Psalm 16:11
2.1 Pleasure as an Idol: When pleasure becomes our ultimate goal, it turns into an idol. We must be careful not to let our pursuit of pleasure lead us away from God and His commands. John 2:15-17
2.2 Pleasure without Restraint: God has given us the gift of pleasure with the understanding that we use it responsibly. When we pursue pleasure without restraint or disregard for God's boundaries, it can lead to destructive consequences. Proverbs 21:17
3.1 Pleasure in Serving God: True and lasting pleasure is found in serving God and doing His will. When our delight is in the Lord, He gives us the desires of our hearts. Psalm 37:4
3.2 Pleasure in God's Presence: The ultimate pleasure for a believer is the presence of God. In His presence, there is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11
4.1 Temporary vs Eternal Pleasure: The pleasures of this world are temporary and fleeting. But the pleasures that come from a relationship with God are eternal. We must set our hearts on the eternal pleasures that are found in Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:18
4.2 Pleasure in Heaven: Heaven is described as a place of unimaginable pleasure and joy. As believers, we look forward to the eternal pleasures that await us in heaven. Revelation 21:4
