1.1 The Bible Reflects God's Character: God's Word is a mirror that reflects His character. When we read the Bible, we see the nature and attributes of God. We see His love, mercy, justice, and holiness. We see His faithfulness and His steadfastness. We see His wisdom and His power. God's Word is a mirror that helps us understand who God is and what He is like. Psalm 119:105
1.2 The Bible Reflects Our True Condition: God's Word is also a mirror that reflects our true condition. It reveals our sins and shortcomings. It shows us our need for a Savior. It confronts us with the truth about ourselves and our need for repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. God's Word is a mirror that shows us the reality of our sin and our need for God's grace. Romans 3:23
2.1 We Must Humbly Accept the Word: When we see our reflection in the mirror of God's Word, we must humbly accept what it reveals. We must not deny or ignore the truth about ourselves. We must not resist or reject the Word of God. Instead, we must humbly accept it, knowing that it is for our good and for our salvation. Humble acceptance of God's Word leads to repentance and faith. James 1:21
2.2 We Must Act on the Word: Seeing our reflection in the mirror of God's Word is not enough. We must also act on what we see. We must repent of our sins and believe in Jesus Christ for salvation. We must strive to live in obedience to God's Word. Action on God's Word leads to transformation and growth in Christ. James 1:22-25
3.1 Transformation Through the Word: When we humbly accept and act on God's Word, it leads to transformation. We are changed from the inside out. We become more like Christ. We grow in holiness and righteousness. We experience the fruit of the Spirit. Transformation is the result of seeing and responding to our reflection in the mirror of God's Word. 2 Corinthians 3:18
3.2 Assurance Through the Word: God's Word also gives us assurance. It assures us of God's love and forgiveness. It assures us of our salvation in Christ. It assures us of our eternal life with God. Assurance is the result of seeing and responding to our reflection in the mirror of God's Word. 1 John 5:13
