Sermon on
Speaking God's Words, Not Their Own

1. The Power of God's Word

1.1 The Word of God is Living and Active: The Bible is not just a book, but a living, active force in our lives. It can change hearts, transform minds, and guide actions. Hebrews 4 12 Hebrews 4:12

1.2 God's Word Accomplishes His Purpose: When God speaks, His words never return void. They always accomplish the purpose for which they were sent. Isaiah 55 1 1 Isaiah 55:11

2. The Danger of Speaking Our Own Words

2.1 Our Words Can Lead to Sin: When we speak our own words without filtering them through God's Word, we can easily fall into sin. Proverbs 10 19 Proverbs 10:19

2.2 Our Words Can Cause Harm: Our words have the power to build up or tear down. When we speak our own words, we risk causing harm to others. Proverbs 18 2 1 Proverbs 18:21

3. The Importance of Speaking God's Words

3.1 God's Words Bring Life: When we speak God's words, we bring life and healing to those around us. Proverbs 16 24 Proverbs 16:24

3.2 God's Words Guide Us: God's Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. When we speak His words, we are guided in the right direction. Psalm 119 105 Psalm 119:105

4. How to Speak God's Words

4.1 Meditate on God's Word: To speak God's words, we must first fill our minds with them. This comes through regular reading and meditation on the Scriptures. Joshua 1 8 Joshua 1:8

4.2 Pray for Wisdom: We need God's wisdom to understand His Word and apply it to our lives. We should pray for this wisdom regularly. James 1 5 James 1:5

4.3 Speak in Love: Even as we speak God's words, we must always do so in love, with the aim of building up others, not tearing them down. Ephesians 4 15 Ephesians 4:15
