Sermon on
Speed can lead to Mistakes

1. The Danger of Haste

1.1 The Peril of Rushing Decisions: In our haste, we often make decisions without adequate thought or prayer, leading to mistakes and regrets. Proverbs 19:2

1.2 The Risk of Ignoring God's Timing: When we rush, we risk ignoring God's perfect timing. We must remember that God's timing is perfect, and He has a plan for our lives. "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.". Ecclesiastes 3:1

2. The Wisdom of Slowing Down

2.1 The Value of Patience: The Bible teaches us the value of patience. It is through patience that we can avoid the mistakes that come with speed. "Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.". Proverbs 16:32

2.2 The Importance of Waiting on God: We must learn to wait on God and trust in His timing. In doing so, we can avoid the pitfalls of haste. "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.". Psalm 27:14

3. The Power of Prudence

3.1 The Benefit of Careful Planning: The Bible encourages us to plan carefully and not rush into things. This can help us avoid the mistakes that come with speed. "The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.". Proverbs 21:5

3.2 The Strength of Seeking Counsel: Seeking counsel and advice can help us avoid the mistakes that come with speed. The Bible encourages us to seek wisdom from others. "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.". Proverbs 15:22

4. The Grace of God in Our Mistakes

4.1 The Forgiveness of God: Even when we make mistakes, God is gracious and forgiving. He can use our mistakes for good. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.". John 1:9

4.2 The Restoration of God: God can restore us even when we have made mistakes. He can turn our mistakes into blessings. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.". Romans 8:28
