Sermon on
The Enemy's Tactics

1. Deception

1.1 The enemy uses lies to lead us astray. He is the father of lies and there is no truth in him. He uses deception to make us doubt God's word and promises. John 8:44

1.2 He disguises himself as an angel of light, making evil look good and good look evil. He uses this tactic to confuse us and lead us away from the truth. 2 Corinthians 11:14

2. Temptation

2.1 The enemy tempts us to sin. He knows our weaknesses and uses them against us. He tempts us with the desires of our flesh, the desires of our eyes, and the pride of life. 1 John 2:16

2.2 He tempts us to doubt God's goodness. He makes us question whether God really loves us and wants the best for us. Genesis 3:1-5

3. Accusation

3.1 The enemy accuses us before God. He is the accuser of the brethren, who accuses them before God day and night. He uses guilt and shame to make us feel unworthy of God's love and grace. Revelation 12:10

3.2 He accuses God to us. He makes us question God's justice and fairness. He makes us believe that God is holding out on us, that He is not really good or just. Genesis 3:4-5

4. Division

4.1 The enemy sows discord among believers. He uses disagreements, misunderstandings, and offenses to divide the body of Christ. He knows that a house divided against itself cannot stand. Matthew 12:25

4.2 He divides us from God. He makes us feel distant from God, makes us believe that God is far away, that He doesn't care about us or our problems. Isaiah 59:2

5. Distraction

5.1 The enemy distracts us from God's purposes. He makes us busy with the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things. He makes us forget about God and His kingdom. Mark 4:19

5.2 He distracts us with fear and worry. He makes us focus on our problems instead of God. He makes us worry about tomorrow, instead of trusting in God who holds tomorrow. Matthew 6:34
