Sermon on
The Invitation

1. The Invitation Extended

1.1 God's Invitation to All: God's invitation is not exclusive, but inclusive. He invites everyone, regardless of their background, status, or past mistakes. He invites us into a relationship with Him, offering forgiveness, love, and eternal life. God's invitation is an open call to all who are willing to accept it. John 3:16

1.2 The Invitation through Jesus Christ: The invitation to a relationship with God is extended through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the bridge that connects us to God. Through His death and resurrection, He made a way for us to come to God. Jesus is the invitation from God to us. John 14:6

2. The Response to the Invitation

2.1 Acceptance of the Invitation: Accepting God's invitation requires faith and trust in Jesus Christ. It involves recognizing our need for a Savior and accepting Jesus as that Savior. Acceptance is the first step in responding to God's invitation. Romans 10:9

2.2 Rejection of the Invitation: Some people choose to reject God's invitation. They may do this out of disbelief, pride, or a desire to live life on their own terms. However, rejecting God's invitation has eternal consequences. Rejection is a choice that leads to separation from God. John 3:18

3. The Impact of the Invitation

3.1 Transformation through the Invitation: Accepting God's invitation leads to a transformation in our lives. We are changed from the inside out, becoming new creations in Christ. This transformation is a sign of the power of God's invitation. 2 Corinthians 5:17

3.2 Eternal Life through the Invitation: God's invitation offers us eternal life. This is not just a promise of life after death, but a quality of life that begins now and continues forever. Eternal life is the ultimate impact of accepting God's invitation. John 10:10

4. The Call to Share the Invitation

4.1 Our Role in Extending the Invitation: As followers of Jesus, we are called to share God's invitation with others. We are to be ambassadors for Christ, sharing the good news of His love and forgiveness. Sharing the invitation is a vital part of our mission as Christians. Matthew 28:19-20

4.2 The Urgency of the Invitation: The invitation to a relationship with God is urgent. We do not know what tomorrow holds, so it is important to respond to God's invitation today. The urgency of the invitation compels us to share it with others as quickly as possible. 2 Corinthians 6:2
