Sermon on
Understanding the Concept of Speed in the Bible

1. God's Timing is Perfect

1.1 God's timing is not our timing. He is not bound by time and His plans unfold in His perfect timing. 2 Peter 3:8

1.2 God's timing is always right. He is never late nor early, but always on time. Ecclesiastes 3:1

1.3 We must trust in God's timing. Even when we don't understand, we must have faith that He knows best. Proverbs 3:5-6

2. Speed of God's Intervention

2.1 God's intervention can be swift. When we cry out to Him in distress, He hears us and responds quickly. Psalm 69:17

2.2 God's intervention can also be gradual. He often works in ways that are not immediately apparent to us. Isaiah 55:8-9

2.3 Whether swift or gradual, God's intervention is always timely. He knows exactly when to act for our good and His glory. Romans 8:28

3. Speed of God's Judgment

3.1 God's judgment can come quickly. He is a just God and will not tolerate sin indefinitely. Revelation 22:12

3.2 God's judgment can also be delayed. He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

3.3 Whether quick or delayed, God's judgment is always just. He will repay each person according to what they have done. Romans 2:6

4. Speed of God's Blessings

4.1 God's blessings can come quickly. He is able to bless us abundantly, so that in all things, at all times, we have all that we need. 2 Corinthians 9:8

4.2 God's blessings can also be gradual. They often come as we walk faithfully with Him over time. Galatians 6:9

4.3 Whether quick or gradual, God's blessings are always good. He gives good gifts to His children. James 1:17

5. Speed of Our Response to God

5.1 Our response to God should be immediate. When He calls, we should answer without delay. Isaiah 65:24

5.2 Our response to God should be persistent. We should continue to seek Him, even when the answer seems slow in coming. Luke 18:1

5.3 Whether immediate or persistent, our response to God should always be obedient. Obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22
